In week 2 we are going to:

- customize avatars

- edit profiles

- learn how to use IM calls and private voice chat

- control the camera

- navigate environments

- discuss about storylines

Tasks for Week Two

Monday

1- Customize avatars    

                Watch:  Change Avatars

                            Practice task:  Change the gender of your avatar or change into a vampire, robot or car.

2- Edit Profiles

               Watch: Making a profile and changing the display name

                           Practice task: Change the name of your avatar to fit the new looks.

3- Using IM calls and private voice chat

              Watch: Communication Chat IM Call Friends

                           Practice task: Make a new friend and invite him/ her to a private chat. Find out who has your same time zone and similar interests.

4- Controlling the camera  (Fraps)

              Watch: Controlling the camera in SL

                           Practice task: Take pictures of your new friend and you.Practice filming for “cut away” shots, close ups and following actors.

                           Taking live footage, camera practice.Groups of four go in the balloon, two filming and two talking and groups of two people in the  

                       boats ride, one filming and one talking or acting. 

Friday

5- Navigating environments

                           Practice task: Teleport to MOSP and find locations to film your machinima. Take footage.

                           Snapshot practice, Windlight settings demonstrated, Telephoto or Wide angle lenses. 

6- Group discussion

                            Practice task: Start thinking of a storyline for your machinima and dicuss your ideas in the group.
